DEPUTY PRESIDENT
Nina is a partner at Messrs. Shook Lin & Bok who has more than a decade’s experience in resolving complex legal disputes. Her primary areas of practice are building, construction and engineering, arbitration, general litigation and data privacy. She is experienced in arbitration and related court proceedings, adjudication under the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012, data privacy and disputes concerning construction, contractual and tortious claims, defamation, licensing, technology and telecommunications. She has served as lead counsel in numerous matters, including commercial disputes and arbitration-related disputes before the Court of Appeal, High Court and Sessions Court. Additionally, she has handled and managed landmark arbitration and related court proceedings, adjudication and related court proceedings under the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012, court proceedings and court-assisted mediations relating to construction, contractual and tortious disputes. She has contributed to the legal field through her publications on construction law and dispute resolution. She also regularly shares her expertise with clients through speaking engagements. She read law at Cardiff University and graduated with an LL.B. (Hons) degree in 2013. She was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple in 2014. She was thereafter called to the Malaysian Bar in 2015. She was the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators’ Honorary Secretary for the 2021/2023 term, Council Member for the 2019/2021 term and headed Editorial, Publicity and Public Relations Committee from 2019 to 2023.
